Sindoor Shifting (GST Registration: India-wide, Registered Office: Delhi NCR) is an IBA-Approved family relocation specialist with IBA Code MUO-2547, operating across India since 2015. When you book with us, you're contracting directly with Sindoor Shifting for household, office, or vehicle relocation services. These Terms & Conditions ("Agreement") govern the legal relationship between you (the "Customer") and Sindoor Shifting for all services rendered.
Service Scope & Quotation
What We Move
- Household goods: Furniture, appliances, documents, personal items within weight and volume limits specified in your quote
- Office relocation: Desks, servers, filing systems, and equipment from commercial addresses (e.g., IT parks in Bangalore, Hyderabad tech hubs)
- Vehicle shifting: Four-wheelers and two-wheelers across pan-India routes via specialized carriers
- Fragile & specialty items: Art, electronics, musical instruments—subject to additional declaration and insurance premiums
Quotation & Booking
Our team provides same-day written quotes after assessing your inventory via home visit or video survey (for remote locations). The quote remains valid for 7 days and includes itemized pricing: packing, transportation, labour, GST (as per applicable slab), and insurance. Any items not disclosed during the survey or changes to the move date will be subject to revised pricing.
Payment Terms & GST
Payments are accepted via bank transfer, cheque, or digital wallets as specified in your invoice. GST @ 5% (on packing services) or 18% (on full relocation services) is charged separately and included in your itemized quote. An advance of 20–30% of the total quote is required to confirm your booking; the balance is payable 24 hours before the truck's arrival at your current address or in full before unloading at your destination, at your choice.
Invoices will be issued in the name of the primary customer and will include our GST registration number, itemized charges, and insurance coverage details. No cash-only payments are accepted; all transactions must be traceable for transparency and tax compliance.
Insurance & Liability
Comprehensive Transit Insurance Included
Every Sindoor Shifting move includes complimentary transit insurance covering loss or damage to your household goods during packing, loading, transit, and unloading. This is one of our core differentiators, trusted by 7,500+ verified customer families. The coverage limit is calculated based on the declared value of your inventory and is stated in your booking confirmation.
Your Responsibility for Disclosure
You must declare the full value and condition of all items before packing begins. High-value items (jewellery, electronics, documents, artwork worth ₹5,00,000 and above) should be listed separately with photographs. If an item is not declared, any claim for loss or damage to that item will not be entertained under our insurance policy.
Claims & Dispute Resolution
If goods are damaged or lost during transit, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery with photographic evidence and a detailed written report. Claims will be assessed and settled within 30 days. The maximum liability per item is the insured value declared; claims exceeding ₹10 lakhs will be reviewed by our claims administrator in consultation with the insurance underwriter. For disputes that cannot be resolved amicably, jurisdiction is vested with courts in New Delhi (Delhi NCR), where Sindoor Shifting's registered office is situated.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
Cancellation Policy
- More than 7 days before the booked date: Full refund of advance minus ₹2,500 administrative fee
- 3–7 days before: Refund of 50% of advance payment
- Within 48 hours of booked date: No refund; advance is forfeited, though rescheduling to a future date within 30 days is offered at no additional cost
Rescheduling
If you need to postpone your move, we'll reschedule your truck slot at no extra charge if you provide at least 5 days' notice. The new date must fall within 30 days of the original booking. After 30 days, rescheduling will incur a re-survey fee of ₹1,500 if the inventory or destination has changed.
Conditions of Carriage
Items We Cannot Move
Sindoor Shifting will not transport:
- Explosives, flammable liquids, or hazardous chemicals (as per IATA & DGFT guidelines)
- Perishable food items (unless in sealed, vacuum-packed containers)
- Live animals (except for registered pet relocations under a separate service agreement)
- Currency, government securities, or highly valuable documents without prior written consent and enhanced insurance
- Items that are stolen, counterfeit, or subject to legal dispute
Any prohibited item discovered during packing will be segregated, and you will be notified immediately. Transport will not commence until the item is removed or a written waiver is signed.
Access & Delays
You are responsible for ensuring adequate access (door width, lift capacity, staircase width) at both your pickup address (e.g., a 3-BHK in Sector 12, Noida or a flat in Hyderabad's Banjara Hills) and delivery address. If our crew encounters unexpected access issues requiring additional equipment (crane hire, external lifts), a supplementary charge of ₹3,000–₹8,000 will be levied. Transit delays due to traffic, weather, or route restrictions are beyond our control; we will keep you updated but cannot guarantee exact delivery dates during monsoon season (June–September) or peak shifting periods.
Customer Conduct & Site Responsibility
You agree to:
- Be present or authorize a representative at pickup and delivery
- Ensure the building/society permits are obtained if required (e.g., no-shifting hours, building society NOC)
- Protect our crew from workplace hazards and cooperate during loading/unloading
- Settle the final invoice before goods are unloaded
- Conduct an inventory check and sign off on the delivery checklist within 24 hours
Intellectual Property & Feedback
Any photographs, testimonials, or reviews you provide to Sindoor Shifting for marketing purposes may be used on our website and social media, with your name and city mentioned (e.g., "Priya Sharma, Delhi" or "Rajesh Kumar, Bangalore"). If you object, notify us in writing within 7 days of providing feedback.
Limitation of Liability
Except for willful misconduct or gross negligence, Sindoor Shifting's liability for any claim arising out of our services is limited to the insured value of the goods as declared in your booking form. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages such as loss of profits, emotional distress, or business interruption.
Amendment & Governing Law
Sindoor Shifting reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions with 30 days' notice. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. This Agreement is governed by the laws of India and is subject to the jurisdiction of courts in New Delhi.

What happens if I cancel my booking — is there a penalty?
Cancellations more than 30 days before your moving date incur zero charge. Cancellations 15–30 days before attract 25% of the quoted amount (non-refundable). Within 15 days, 50% is forfeited. Cancellations within 48 hours of the move cost 100% — crew is already deployed. All refunds are processed within 7–10 business days to your original payment method.
What's covered under your transit insurance and how do I file a claim?
Every move includes comprehensive all-risk insurance (₹5 lakh minimum coverage). It covers loss, theft, and damage in transit. Claim timeline: Report damage within 48 hours with photos, file formal claim within 7 days, settlement within 21 days. For items over ₹50,000, we require pre-move condition assessment. Premium: 1–2% of declared goods value.
Can I modify my move date or destination after I've booked?
Yes — within 30 days of your booking date, date/destination changes are free. Booking made 15 days before move? ₹1,500 modification fee applies. Changes within 7 days cost ₹3,000. What's your jurisdiction if a legal dispute arises?

Do you refund or replace damaged items, or just claim insurance?
Damaged items are first assessed by our crew lead at delivery. Minor damage (scratches, dents) = ₹500–₹2,000 on-spot compensation. Major damage (non-functional, irreparable): Full insurance claim processed via third-party adjuster within 21 days. If adjuster approves, you receive 100% assessed value. Replacement or cash — your choice, communicated within 5 days of claim approval.
Are your crew members insured as employees or contractor-based?
All Sindoor crew members are trained, background-checked employees with individual workman's compensation insurance (₹25 lakh minimum). This means if injury occurs during your move, it's covered — you're not liable. Unlike non-IBA aggregators who use uninsured gig workers, Sindoor's 2,000+ crew hold consistent standards, GST registration, and employer accountability.
